NAKED CITY - CIDADE NUA

Naked City ou Cidade Nua foi uma série de televisão, um drama policial que foi inspirado num filme de 1948, de mesmo nome e tinha o formato de um semi-documentário em tom dramático.

Toda a locação eram centradas na Cidade de Nova Iorque, em especial o Distrito 65ª da Polícia de Nova Iorque (NYPD) e também eram focalizados freqüentemente enredos de episódios com criminosos e vítimas, que eram interpretados por artistas convidados.

O roteirista Stirling Silliphant foi o primeiro a dar um foco dramático inteligente, misturando até elementos de comédia, conduzindo a uma boa aclamação da crítica especializada. Muitas cenas foram filmadas em Grenwich Village e outros bairros de Manhattan.

O exterior do Distrito real era da Midtown North Precinct que ficava na 306 West 54th Street. A série teve seu início com James Franciscus e John McIntire interpretando os detetives Jimmy Halloran e Tenente Dan Muldoon respectivamente.

Na versão de 1960 a série foi protagonizada por Paul Burke como Detetive Adam Flint, um policial sensível e inteligente, bem como Horace McMahon que interpretava o seu superior, o Tenente Mike Parker e Harry Bellaver que interpretou o seu companheiro mais velho chamado Sargento Frank Arcaro, personagens esses que se tornaram regulares nos episódios.

O espetáculo também ficou famoso por colocar jovens atores em papéis de destaque e que mais tarde se tornaram celebridades, tais como Peter Falk, Robert Duval, Carrol O´Connor, Jean Stapleton, George Segal, Robert Redford, Jon Voight, William Shatner e até Dustin Hoffman.

O espetáculo foi apresentado originalmente nos Estados Unidos, pela rede ABC, entre 30 de setembro de 1958 a 29 de maio de 1963, num total de 138 episódios, de aproximadamente 30/60 minutos cada e no Brasil através da TV Gazeta.
