MEDIUM - A PARANORMAL

A Paranormal ou Medium é uma série de televisão do gênero drama supernatural, criado por Glenn Gordon Caron e produzido pela Picturemaker Productions e Grammnet Productions em associação com a CBS Paramount Television.

O espetáculo é baseado na vida real da médium Allison DuBois que é interpretada por Patricia Arquette, cujo dom tem permitido resolver muito casos judiciais. Allison DuBois é esposa, mãe de três filhas e trabalha como ajudante fiscal em Phoenix.

Desde o primeiro episódio Allison mostra aos espectadores da série os seus poderes, tais como falar com os mortos, prever o futuro e ler as mentes, entre outras. Temendo por sua saúde mental, Allison conta ao seu marido Joe, um engenheiro aeroespacial que aos poucos, começa a acreditar que sua esposa esteja falando a verdade.

Enquanto Allison trabalha no escritório Fiscal do Distrito ela começa a ter visões sobre alguns crimes. De forma secreta ela passa a prestar mais atenção aos seus pressentimentos e depois tenta convencer o seu superior, o fiscal Devalos de que suas suspeitas são corretas.

Para ajudar Allison em sua intenção de ajudar a provar a veracidades de suas visões, Joe passa a enviar uma série de informes de suas premonições para a polícia de todo o país. A respostas que passam a receber demonstram claramente que Allison realmente possui esse dom extraordinário.

Allison viaja para o Texas para provar suas habilidades num caso de homicídio e desta forma obter provas que ajudem a resolver o caso. O espetáculo está sendo apresentado originalmente nos Estados Unidos pela rede NBC, desde 3 de janeiro de 2005 e ainda continuava em produção até o fechamento desta matéria, em junho de 2009.

Até o momento já contava com mais de 95 episódios produzidos, de aproximadamente 45 minutos, em cinco temporadas. No Brasil ela é conhecida também como “A Paranormal” e é exibida pela televisão a cabo Sony Entertainment Television e também pelo SBT.
