Home Improvement era uma série de TV em forma de uma sitcom criado por Matt Williams, Carmen Finestre e David McFadzena, apresentado originalmente nos Estados Unidos, pela rede ABC de 17 de setembro de 1991 até 25 de maio de 1999, num total de 204 capítulos, de aproximadamente 30 minutos cada episódio.

A série mostrava o mundo de Tim Taylor, na televisão, com os amigos e em casa. Na televisão Tim era um carismático apresentador de programa chamado "Tool Time", juntamente com seu assistente Borland para uma TV a cabo local. Ele era uma espécie de apresentador tipo "faz de tudo um pouco", que mostrava como melhorar e resolver os problemas domésticos do dia-a-dia, como trocar lâmpadas, arrumar cadeiras, instalar um chuveiro e coisas do gênero.

Na televisão ele podia ser o "Sr. Conserta Tudo", mas em casa, ele era na verdade um desastre. Quando ele começava a procurar suas ferramentas, com um certo brilho no olhar, sua mulher Jill, já entrava em estado de alerta e ficava sempre por perto, porque ela sabia que vinha confusão por aí, e não era somente pela bagunça que ele aprontava não. Jill era uma mãe prestativa e atenciosa de três filhos, Brad, Randy e Mark, e sabia muito bem lidar com todos eles, não importando se eles tinham 7 ou 37 anos, incluindo principalmente o Tim.

Embora eles fossem uma família feliz, todos eles tinham um problema básico: a comunicação. Ela não entendia o que os homens pensavam, e eles não entendiam o que as mulheres pensavam. Mas por sorte, Tim contava sempre com seu vizinho Wilson, um verdadeiro mentor e conselheiro nessas horas difíceis. Agora, a tarefa sempre mais complicada e difícil era mesmo Tim convencer sua mulher Jill, a deixá-lo dar uma olhadinha na máquina de lavar-louças. Aí sim, o bicho pegava!!!. No Brasil esta série era apresentado na tv a cabo Sony com o nome de Gente Pra Frente.
